Just in time for the spring awakening, Mount Desert Island Hospital is hosting a community blood drive on Thursday, Mar. 28 from 9 am to 2 pm at the MDI YWCA.
“We intentionally scheduled our spring blood drive a littler earlier than we have in the past so our event wouldn’t fall right when everyone is busy with summer plans,” said Kathy Mulligan, MDI Hospital’s community health educator. “By moving the date a few weeks we’re hoping that those who couldn’t donate in May can in late March.”
Donors are asked to schedule an appointment in order to minimize their time commitment. Call 1-800-RED CROSS or contact Kathy Mulligan at 288-5082 ext. 1624 to make your appointment to give the gift of life. For more information about donating blood, visit redcrossblood.org.
