Dr. S. Ramanadha Rao, MD provides a wide array of urologic services to patients of MDI Hospital. Dr. Rao holds office hours two Fridays a month at Cadillac Mountain Medical building where he offers consultation as well as in-office procedures to treat enlarge prostate and female incontinence.
Dr. Rao also performs several minimally invasive surgical procedures including GreenLight Laser Treatment for BPH (Benign Prostate Hyperplasia). GreenLight™ Laser Therapy uses laser energy to remove enlarged prostate tissue. In addition, Dr. Rao performs incontinence procedures with mesh implantation in female patients and he is one of the few physicians in Maine who performs robotic surgery for cancers of the kidney and prostate. As of April 2010 he has performed 250 cases of robotic surgery to remove cancers of prostate, kidney and bladder.
