Marketing and Events Assistant 

MDI Hospital is seeking a Marketing and Events Assistant to support the Office of Advancement during the busy summer season (32 hours a week for approximately 13 weeks). In this role, the Marketing and Event Assistant will assist in the creation, planning, management and execution of internal and external events with an emphasis on invitation and flyer design, social media promotion, on site event support and the production of event-specific press releases and photographs. Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office required. The ideal candidate will have previous experience with events, good writing and photography skills, be highly organized and possess a personable demeanor. Impeccable attention to detail, creative thinking, problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude a must. A flexible schedule is required to accommodate evening and we ekend events. Some post-secondary education or equivalent experience required.Minimum of one year experience in event coordination/management or equivalent

       

Advancement Officer

Full time, benefit eligible position. The Advancement Officer manages the Mount Desert Island Hospital’s Annual Fund Program and plays a key role in donor cultivation and stewardship efforts. Working with the Director of Advancement, the Advancement Officer will also develop and maintain an ongoing portfolio of major and deferred  gift donors and prospects. Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience required. CFRE a plus. 7 to 10 years of fund raising experience, including annual fund development preferred ; a minimum of 5 years experience required. Per diem on the night shift, Sunday - Thursday 10p-6a , Friday & Saturday 11p-7a.  Assists the Emergency staff in maintaining a well equipped and clean department and facilitates the processing of patient orders and charges.  High school graduate or equivalent.  Computer literacy and medical terminology.  Annual CPR recertification.  Experience with medical terminology and/or receptionist work preferred.  Previous experience as a hospital unit secretary, CNA or EMT preferred.

Full time, benefit eligible position.  Emergency Room practitioner.  Primary duties are direct patient care in the emergency room setting; diagnosis and treatment; meeting with physician supervisor in a timely manner.  Graduate of approved Physician Assistant's program.  Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS or equivalent.   Current Maine licensure.  Medical Practice maturity as evidenced by at least two years of mid-level practitioner experience within an emergency department setting or by completion of an ER specific residency training program.

Full time, benefit eligible, position.This position will be responsible for the configuration, implementation and maintenance of various technologies managed by the Information Services department. This person wil focus on the administration of the server and network infrastructure to include desktop PCs, servers, network equipment and software applications. The Systems Administrator will assess and identify appropriate solutions to be integrated into MDIHO's systems operation. Two year degree in the field of computer science, information technology or related field or at least two years equivalent experience at the enterprise level. 2- 4 years experience with Windows 2000/2003 Server platforms, with an emphasis on Active Directory. Solid knowledge of LAN/WAN configurations, Cisco firewalls, network and application management & monitoring technologies. 3/7/14

Manager - Lab

Full time, 40 hours a week, benefit eligible position.  Provides technical oversight to the laboratory, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of laboratory results. Through training and supervision, the laboratory manager ensures that laboratory personnel adhere to best documented practices, including quality, safety and environmental procedures. He or she maintains, audits, and monitors all required systems, processes, methods and equipment. The incumbent collects specimens, performs quality control and analytical testing, and evaluates and reports results following theories and principles of prescribed strategies. He or she uses independent judgment in problem solving and the evaluation of abnormal results, and is available as a resource for MTs, MLTs and phlebotomists. Will assist Director of Laboratory with staff evaluations and budget planning.  Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology required.  Registry with ASCP, AMT or NCA or registry eligible.  Clinical experience in high complexity testing area required (hospital setting strongly preferred)  Five years in supervisory/leadership role.

Per diem CT Technologist/Radiographer

Performs CT, radiographic and fluoroscopic exams to obtain high quality diagnostic images in a timely fashion for the efficient operation of the Imaging Department.  ARRT certification and ME licensure is required.  Must also be CPR certified or obtain within 3 months from hire date.  At least one year CT experience preferred.  CT certification preferred.

Full time, 36 hours a week on the night shift. Coordinates all patient care activities and patient care personnel across the Clinical Divisions. There is a Supervisor on duty 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Current Maine licensure as a registered professional nurse.  Requires ACLS,PALS and TNCC,NALS within one year. Responsible for the direct, total nursing care of acute pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric surgical patients; including the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of this nursing care within the policies and procedures of Surgical Services, PACU and MDI Hospital.  Delegates and supervises patient care activities of unlicensed SS Staff and Ancillary personnel.  Directs post-anes. nursing care concerns to the chief anesthetist. Relevant experience and current RN Licensure.

Per diem ASU RN

Responsible for the direct, total nursing care of acute pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric surgical patients; including the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the nursing care within the policies and procedures of the Ambulatory Surgical Unit and MDI Hospital.  Graduate from an NLN accredited school of nursing.  Holds current Maine RN license.  Current BLS/ACLS/PALS certification required.  Specialty certification encouraged. Previous Ambulatory Surgery nursing care experience required. Minimum 1-2 years acute care nursing experience required. Proficient IV/Portacath access skills.  Strong interpersonal skills.  Emotional maturity and good people skills required. Familiarity with computer applications
