Coastal Care Team Social Worker

Be on the leading edge of healthcare delivery in your community.  MDI Hospital is leading an innovative, grant funded pilot project to assist patients with chronic illnesses better manage their condition and improve their wellbeing. This team works in conjunction with the Patient Centered Medical Homes and MaineCare Health Homes throughout Hancock County, Eastern Waldo County and Western Washington County to provide extra support to those who struggle with multiple emergency room visits and hospital admissions. The position entails advocacy skills and knowledge of behavioral health and community resources. This position will maintain absolute confidentiality of all patient information and abide with all policies and procedures of the MDIH /CCT. Bachelors degree in Psychology or Social Work. Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years experience in social work.  Experience with electronic health records, home health, chronic illness, motivational interviewing, goal setting, and providing constructive feedback is preferred along with knowledge of local community resources. Candidate must have strong organizational and time management skills. 10/28/14

Manager - Lab

Full time, 40 hours a week, benefit eligible position.  Provides technical oversight to the laboratory, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of laboratory results. Through training and supervision, the laboratory manager ensures that laboratory personnel adhere to best documented practices, including quality, safety and environmental procedures. He or she maintains, audits, and monitors all required systems, processes, methods and equipment. The incumbent collects specimens, performs quality control and analytical testing, and evaluates and reports results following theories and principles of prescribed strategies. He or she uses independent judgment in problem solving and the evaluation of abnormal results, and is available as a resource for MTs, MLTs and phlebotomists. Will assist Director of Laboratory with staff evaluations and budget planning.  Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology required.  Registry with ASCP, AMT or NCA or registry eligible.  Clinical experience in high complexity testing area required. 8/20/14
