MDI Hospital hosts public flu shot clinics

Mount Desert Island Hospital will host a series of public flu shot clinics beginning in mid-October.

The clinics will take place through November 8 at locations across the island. The cost is $25 and Medicare, Medicaid, and some private insurance plans are accepted. The schedule of clinics is as follows:

Oct. 20 – Mount Desert Nursing Association, Northeast Harbor, 12 to 3 pm

Oct. 26  –Community Health Center, Southwest Harbor, 1 to 4 pm

Oct. 27 – Malvern-Belmont Estates, Bar Harbor, 10 am to 12 pm

Oct. 27 – Rodick-Lorraine Apartments, Bar Harbor, 1-3 pm

Oct. 29 – MDI Hospital Health Fair, Birch Bay Retirement Village, Bar Harbor, 10 am to 1 pm

Nov. 8 – Bar Harbor Town Office, 1 to 4 pm

This is a great opportunity to take advantage of the free blood pressure and cholesterol screenings that will be offered. Flu shots, acupuncture and skin checks will be available along with carotid artery and bone density screenings. Check out some of our community health and wellness providers who will display information on the various services they offer. Exhibitors will be on hand to answer questions on many topics of interest. Tell your neighbors! MDI Hospital Auxiliary Holiday Fair and Luncheon

Start your holiday shopping and make plans to attend the MDI Hospital Auxiliary Holiday Fair and Luncheon on Friday, November 18^th from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Atlantic Oceanside. Take a chance on winning gift certificates to local restaurants and shops, jewelry and more at our raffle table. There will be fabulous Silent Auction items this year along with great bargains on homemade handicraft and fleece items, baked goods and white elephant items. The luncheon will feature fish chowder and an assortment of sandwiches (including crabmeat) and desserts!

Monetary donations are welcome and appreciated.
