MDI Hospital’s Spring Walking Series begins May 7

Put some spring in your step with Mount Desert Island Hospital’s Spring Walking Series. The series is sponsored by MDI Hospital’s Wellness Program and offers weekly group walks through Acadia National Park and surrounding areas.

New this year, the group will meet at 8:30 am in order to enjoy the cool of the morning and the tranquility of a quiet trail.  All MDI Hospital sponsored walks are supervised by a CPR certified individual who has a first aid kit and cell phone available.

May 7 - Witch Hole Pond Loop.- Meet at the Visitors Center Parking  Lot in Hulls Cove 2.3 Miles

May 14 - Bubble Pond.-  Meet in the Bubble Pond Parking Area.  2.5 Miles

May 21 - Sand Beach to Thunder Hole - Meet in the parking area going to the end of the Schooner Head Road.  3.2 Miles

May 28 - Holiday, No Walk.

June 4 - Redfield Hill-  Park in the upper, overflow parking lot for the Jordan Pond House. 
2.3 Miles

June 11 - Somes Sound Overlook- Meet at the Parkman Mountain Parking lot, Route 198.
2 miles before Northeast Harbor.  3.2 Miles

June 18 - Wooded Loop-Meet in the upper, overflow parking lot, just north of the Jordan Pond House.  3.5 Miles

June 25 - MDI Hospital to Bar Island - Meet in the Hospital Parking Lot.  2.5 Miles

July 2 - Witch Hole– Meet @ the Duck Brook Bridge via the Eagle Lake Road entrance. 
3.2 Miles

July 9 - Hadlock Brook Loop– Meet in the Brown Mountain Gate House Parking Area. 
3.9 Miles

July 16 - Jordan Stream-Meet in the upper, overflow parking Area for the Jordan Pond House.  4.0 Miles

July 23 - Little Long Pond-Meet at the parking area beyond the Gate House by the Greenrock Corp Sign.  5 Miles

July 30 - Eagle Lake to Bubble Pond-Meet in the Eagle Lake Parking Area.  4.2 Miles

August 6 -Witch Hole Pond & Paradise Hill-Meet at the Duck Brook Bridge via the Eagle Lake Road. 4.2 Miles

August 13 - Jordan Pond Overlook to Deer Brook Bridge. Meet in the Jordan Pond overflow, lower lot, parking area.  3.8 Miles

August 20 - Bubble Pond to Wildwood Stables.  Park @ the Bubble Pond Parking Area. 5 Miles

August 27 - Eagle Lake to Duck Brook Bridge-Meet in the Eagle Lake parking area. 5.2 Miles

September 3 - Holiday- No walk

September 10 - Hio Road– Meet @ the entrance gate to the Seawall Campground. 4 Miles

September 17 - Bubble Pond to Wildwood Stables.  Meet in the Bubble Pond Parking Area. 5 Miles

September 24 - Amphitheater Loop.  Meet at the Brown Mountain Gate House Parking Area (1 mile North of Northeast Harbor) 5.2 Miles

October 1 - Day Mountain Loop.  Meet at Wildwood Stables Parking Area.  5.5 Miles

October 8 - Meet at the Eagle Lake Parking area.  6 Miles

October 15 - Aunt Betty’s Pond– Meet at the  Eagle Lake Parking area on Route 233.  6 Miles

October 22 - Eagle Lake to Duck Brook Bridge-Meet in the Eagle Lake Parking area on Route 233.  5.2 Miles

October 29 - Giant Slide Loop - Meet  in the Parkman Mountain parking lot on Route 198.  8.2 Miles. GRAND FINALE!
