Honor a loved one, celebrate a cancer survivor, and support an important cause by purchasing a luminaria for the 25th Annual Carol Dyer Memorial Luminaria Evening.

The 25th Annual Carol Dyer Memorial Luminaria Evening will take place on Saturday, August 8, from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. on the Bar Harbor Village Green (rain date: August 15). The evening celebrates the lives of cancer survivors and honors those who have lost their lives to cancer through the display of hundreds of glowing luminaria. This year`s event will feature music by April Cough McGuire, and all proceeds will benefit MDI Health

To purchase and personalize a luminaria, please contact Vickie Mayer at victoria.mayer@mdidhospital.org or 207-460-6933. You may also order a luminaria online through the YWCA Mount Desert Island by using the QR code on the event poster.

Did you know that prediabetes often has no symptoms, yet it affects millions of adults? The good news is that type 2 diabetes can often be prevented or delayed through healthy lifestyle changes. 📈💙

MDI Health`s PreventT2 program is a CDC-recognized lifestyle change program designed to help individuals at risk for type 2 diabetes build healthy habits that last. Participants work with a trained lifestyle coach, receive support from others with similar goals, and learn practical strategies for healthy eating, physical activity, stress management, and long-term success.

Research has shown that modest lifestyle changes can significantly reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. If you`ve been told you have prediabetes or are at increased risk, now is a great time to take action.
