A native of Downeast Maine, Sara has always enjoyed the natural beauty and sense of community that Mount Desert Island has to offer.  Class trips and photography outings with her sister are some of her earliest memories of MDI. It was because of MDI’s lasting impression that she began her career path on this unique and prosperous island.  Beginning in 2006, she worked for several businesses on the island before joining MDI Hospital in 2014. She has worked in various roles throughout the organization, most recently joining the Advancement team in July 2021.

The first in her family to achieve an undergraduate degree, she earned her Associate of Business Management in 2010. Making the most of MDI Hospital’s generous education assistance program, Sara is currently working to earn her BA to advance her career and contribute to the success of MDI Hospital for years to come.

Sara lives outside of Ellsworth with her Great Danes Blue and Buckley, and several cats. In her free time, she enjoys walking her dogs, photography, traveling, and visiting with friends and family.
