The Town of Bar Harbor will begin infrastructure improvements on Hancock Street on December 9th. This work includes excavation and the use of one lane traffic control. The Town and contractors are aware of the hospital’s proximity to the project and will not close off traffic entering, or exiting, the hospital.
We would encourage patients who are able during this time to utilize the Wayman Lane entrance onto hospital grounds where possible and to contact your providers office should you need physical assistance entering the hospital or Cooper Gilmore Health Center, especially during the winter months.
The Town of Bar Harbor expects construction to last through the spring, during which time we have identified alternative parking for employees so not to reduce patient parking on site.
