Patient Advocacy at MDI Hospital

MDI Hospital is proud to offer patient advocate services. Navigating the healthcare space can be difficult and when faced with a challenging diagnosis, complicated care schedules, among other moving parts, our patient advocate is there for you!

Kala Ward, MDIH Patient Advocate says of her job, “Everyday looks different, but it means to world to me to serve the needs of the people in the community I live in.”

The role of a patient advocate is to help patients and their families navigate their concerns or questions involving referrals, providers, policy, wait times, nursing care, and even notes of gratitude.

“When a patient or a family member is going through a challenging time, I truly feel for them and really want to help. My family has also experienced health challenges that were life-threatening and costly, so I know what it’s like,” Kala goes on to say, “I am here to help address whatever you need however possible.”
