Mariah Cormier comes to MDI Hospital because of her passion to invigorate Maine communities through meaningful storytelling and advocacy for institutions with the ability to make a difference for residents and visitors. As a skilled writer, event planner, media specialist, and marketing professional, Mariah has managed events and press in conjunction with the Governor’s Office as well as with companies and donors in the Bangor and Downeast Regions.

She holds a B.A. in Communication and Marketing from the University of Maine and a Master’s in Communication and Public Relations from Southern New Hampshire University. Mariah’s love of communication studies led her to public relations and marketing work in higher education. Prior to coming to MDI Hospital, she served as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor.

Mariah grew up in Massachusetts but has been in Maine now for just over ten years. She lives in Hampden with her husband, their son, and Bernese Mountain Dog. As someone who is “from away” as they say, she has fallen in love with her chosen home and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. In her free time, Mariah likes to travel, try new restaurants, go hiking, and cook.
