We, the Healthcare Providers (Physicians, Physician Assistants, Family Nurse Practitioners, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, Certified Nurse Midwives, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists) of MDI Hospital and Health Centers, are sending this message because we care about the health and safety of our patients, our employees, and the people of the communities we serve. As you probably have already heard, getting vaccinated against COVID-19 is the single most effective way to protect you and your family against this disease.
Our Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers support vaccination. COVID-19 vaccines are safe and very effective. The vaccine has been given more than 3 billion times across the globe and millions of times in the U.S. Side effects tend to be mild, brief, and serious reactions are incredibly rare. The vaccines are safe and effective for everyone above 18 years of age including pregnant women. Certain vaccines are safe and effective for kids aged 12 and above. Once testing has been done for kids under 12, vaccines may be available for younger children.
The risks of serious, life-threatening consequences and death from the coronavirus are very real and anyone not vaccinated remains at increased risk of infection.
We urge anyone who has not been vaccinated to get vaccinated.
