MDI Hospital team member receives national certification

Mount Desert Island Hospital’s Patti Riley, FNP-BC, has recently been awarded accreditation as a Certified Medical Examiner with the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners from the Federal Motor Carrier Administration. Riley is an occupational medicine specialist who practices at the Trenton Health Center and the first one in Hancock and Washington counties to receive the certification.

Riley is now authorized to provide medical examinations to commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers in accordance with the regulations of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. After May 21, 2014, all CMV drivers who are required to be medically certified must be examined and certified by a medical examiner listed on the National Registry.

The Occupational Medicine group at Trenton Health Center provides a range of employment health services including workers compensation care, commercial drivers medical certification exams, Merchant Mariner, pre-placement and Maine School Bus Driver Exams and adult immunizations for work or school.
