Adventure Mini-Golf Challenge

The MDI Rotary Adventure Mini Golf Challenge was originally created after a local Rotarian was diagnosed with cancer, and the group rallied to raise funds for their friend. Due to the event’s overwhelming success, it became an annual tradition, with proceeds going to support various causes, including the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center, Island Connections, Sarah’s House of Maine, and MDI Hospital.

In 2019, MDI Hospital formed a partnership with Good Shepherd Food Bank to provide bags of nonperishable food at our health centers for those struggling to afford meals. Building on this effort, in 2023, we introduced our “Help Yourself Shelves,” designed to give community members the freedom to take what they need, whenever they need it, without fear of judgment. As we continued to see an increasing need for support in Hancock County, we launched monthly Produce Pop-Ups last year, offering fresh, locally sourced fruits and vegetables. The funds raised from this event will be crucial in expanding this essential program, including increasing the frequency of the Produce Pop-Ups to every two weeks.
